| Veronica acinifolia was first found in the Netherlands in a tree nursery near Sint-Oedenrode, Prov. of Noord-Brabant, in 2001. Some 300-400 plants were present. It is very likely that the species came along with the seedlings or young trees that were planted in the nursery. If so, the population of V. acinifolia has survived at the nursery during ten seasons. At this site, the species is mainly accompanied by annuals. Soil and growing conditions are much the same as described for southern Germany. In this paper, Veronica acinifolia is compared with V. praecox and V. persica, and diagnostic features are given. |
