This cookbook is to document the end-to-end processing chain of Delayed Mode Quality Control (DMQC) of Core Argo parameters. It provides guidlines on existing manuals, and explains best practices through case studies. This document was initiated after the 1st EU DMQC workshop held in Brest in April 2018, under the MOCCA project.  Lately, this work has been undertaken under EuroArgo RISE project. Argo, the international array of profiling floats, is a major component of the global ocean and climate observing system. In 2010, the NAOS (Novel Argo Observing System) project was selected as part of the French “Investissements d’Avenir” Equipex program. The objectives of NAOS were to consolidate the French contribution to Argo’s core mission (global temperature and salinity measurements down to 2000 m), and also to develop the future generation of French Argo profiling floats and prepare the next phase of the Argo program with an extension to the deep ocean (Deep Argo), biogeochemistry (BGC-Argo) and polar seas. flThis report describes how the PROVOR and ARVOR oats work close to the sea surface and gives some recommendations on the real time QC tests that should be applied to the near surface salinity and temperature data. The CTD collects discrete (P,T,S) triplets every 10 s but the data is bin-averaged before being transmitted by satellite. Within a slice, instantaneous measurements are rst decimated, keeping triplets that are distant by more than 0.5 dbar and then averaged. Means are calculated using the data at the full resolution available (1 cbar for pressure) and rounded to the transmitted resolution (generally 1 dbar for pressure for ARGOS satellite system, 1 cbar for IRIDIUM). The French program Coriolis, as part of the French operational oceanographic system, produces the COriolis dataset for Re-Analysis (CORA) on a yearly basis. This dataset contains in-situ temperature and salinity profiles from different data types. The latest release CORA3 covers the period 1990 to 2010. Several tests have been developed to ensure a homogeneous quality control of the dataset and to meet the requirements of the physical ocean reanalysis activities (assimilation and validation). Improved tests include some simple tests based on comparison with climatology and a model background check based on a global ocean reanalysis.
