ABSTRACT Inadequate and intensive management of soils can promote changes in their chemical attributes and impair the quality of surface and groundwater, especially in hillside areas. Therefore, the aim of this study was to identify possible changes in soil and water chemical composition of hillside areas cultivated with horticulture. For this, chemical attributes of three soil depths (0-10, 10-30, and 30-60 cm) were determined in three hillside positions (upper, middle, and lower thirds) of five hillside and adjacent forest areas, as well as water from reservoirs for agricultural use and human consumption. A posição de importância ocupada pela cana-de-açúcar (Saccharum officinarum) no agronegócio brasileiro justifica o uso de técnicas que propiciem a implantação de um sistema avançado de cultivo, a partir do conhecimento da variabilidade espacial dos atributos do solo. O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar o planejamento agrícola e a implantação de um sistema de cultivo da gramínea, com o auxílio de técnicas geoestatísticas, na região de Pereira Barreto, SP. This study aimed to evaluate the extractable phosphorus Mehlich-1 in a distrophic Red-Yellow Latosol (Oxisol) which received alkaline sewage sludge (alkaline biosolid) along with 0, 0.436, 0.872 and 1.745 dag kg-1 of P from three different sources and cultivated with common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris cv. IPR Uirapuru) in greenhouse. It also aimed to quantify the phosphorus uptake by the plant, plant production and the relative agronomic effectiveness index.
