The influence of different concentrations of four antibiotics : chloramphenicol, aureomycin, erythromycin and sulfamerazin, on the larval growth of Mytilus edulis (reared in the laboratory from the straight hinge stage on to metamorphosis) has been studied by an analytic method. The growth at once is a function of the antibiotic utilised and of its concentration in the culture vessel. The growth is rapid with erythromycin and chloramphenicol and slow with aureomycin. It is more important when the concentration of chloramphenicol increases. It is the contrary with aureomycin and erythromycin. [NOT CONTROLLED OCR] |
