As part of a cooperative effort of the Joint Global Ocean Flux Study (JGOFS) and of the World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE) program, we have measured total CO2 (TCO2) and total alkalinity (TA) along three sections in the northern Indian Ocean. One section through the Gulf of Aden to the Arabian Sea is parallel to the coast of Yemen. One section is across the Arabian Sea along the nominal 9N latitude and the other section is across the Bay of Bengal along the nominal 10N latitude. The measurements were performed on board RN Knorr in September-October 1995. The primary purpose of this work is to understand the penetration of anthropogenic CO2 along these ocean sections. Here, we present a novel approach to the calculation of anthropogenic CO2 in the... |

An operational oceanographic system is being developed in France to monitor and forecast ocean behavior. It is composed of three projects: - Sea-surface observation using satellite sensors, - ln situ measurements from ships, moored or drifting autonomous systems, - Assimilation of in-situ and satellite data in an ocean circulation modal. Coriolis contributes to the in situ part of this system, with the objective of developing continuous, automatic, and permanent observation networks. The data collected will enable water properties to be mapped, such as temperature, and ocean circulation. (NOT CONTROLLED OCR] |

The SeaDataCloud Temperature and Salinity Historical Data Collection V2 for the North Atlantic Ocean includes open access in situ data on temperature and salinity of water column in the North Atlantic Ocean (from 10°N to 62°N for the east part and including the Labrador Sea for the west part) for period 1890 – 2019. The collection version 2 is a merge between the version 1 from which the delated profiles in the CDI portal were removed (list from Maris) and the collection of the new and updated data integrated after the version 1. The data of the version 1 were retrieved from the SeaDataNet infrastructure at the end of 2017 and the new and updated data were retrieved at the summer 2019 for the data integrated after the 30/10/2017. The dataset format is ODV... |

SeaDataCloud Temperature and Salinity Climatologies have been processed from the North Atlantic Ocean historical Data Collection including temperature and salinity in situ data of water column in the North Atlantic Ocean (from 10°N to 62°N for the east part and including the Labrador Sea for the west part) for period 1900-2015. Several versions are proposed in seasonal and monthly format for the period 1955-2015 and six decadal periods (1955-1964/1965-1974/1975-1984/1985-1994/1995-2004/2005-2015). A subset of the CORA dataset (Szekely et al., 2016) has been integrated to the SeaDataCloud aggregated dataset as external data-source to improve the spatial and temporal coverage. |

During the SeaDataNet II (SDN) EU-project, a quality control (QC) strategy has been implemented and continuously reviewed aiming at improving the quality of the global dataset and creating the best products. This strategy has been developed in collaboration with MyOcean In-Situ Thematic Assemble Centre (INS-TAC) at regional levels to serve operational and scientific oceanography communities. Temperature and salinity historical data collections were created by sea basins, as aggregated datasets and climatology products, and covering the time period 1900-2013. Those ODV qualified dataset collections are available through the SDN web catalog at http://sextant.ifremer.fr/en/web/seadatanet/. The presentation highlight the quality control strategy processed for... |

The SDC_NAT_DP1 product contains the North Atlantic Ocean monthly climatology for mixed layer depth (MLD) based on temperature climatology spanning 60 years (1955-2015). The MLD fields have spatial resolution 1/4°. The profiles of temperature combines data from 2 major sources, the SeaDataNet infrastructure and a part of data of the Coriolis Ocean Dataset for Reanalysis (CORA). The used climatology is the SeaDataCloud North Atlantic Ocean Temperature Climatology V1 (https://doi.org/10.13155/61810) done with the DIVA software, version 4.7.2. The product was developed in framework of the SeaDataCloud project. This product must be considered as feasibility study for the next phases, it is a beta-version and that further research needs to be done before its... |

This study compares two recent estimates of anthropogenic CO2 in the northern Indian Ocean along the World Ocean Circulation Experiment cruise I1 [Goyet et al., 1999; Sabine et al., 1999]. These two studies employed two different approaches to separate the anthropogenic CO2 signal from the large natural background variability. Sabine et al. [1999] used the DeltaC* approach first described by Gruber et al. [1996], whereas Goyet et al. [1999] used an optimum multiparameter mixing analysis referred to as the MIX approach. Both approaches make use of similar assumptions in order to remove variations due to remineralization of organic matter and the dissolution of calcium carbonates (biological pumps). However, the two approaches use very different hypotheses... |
