| Cell cultures, which are the basis of numerous recent studies in medical pathology, have been, for a few years, of great interest in the studies carried out on the diseases affecting invertebrates. However, such cultures, dealing with marine bivalve molluscs, obtained for the first time by Vago and Chastang (1) and progressively improved since then [(2) to (10)], have not been used in pathological studies yet.
