ELECTRICAL CONDUCTIVITY TEST APPLIED TO SEEDS OF FOREST SPECIES Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Guollo, Karina; Possenti, Jean Carlo; Del Quiqui, Erci Marcos; Felippi, Marciele; Debastiani, Aline Bernarda.
The evaluation of electrical conductivity is one of the fastest tests to evaluate quality and vigour of the seed, however, studies with forest species are scarce. Thus, the aim was to verify the possibility to evaluate the physiological quality of forest seed species by the individual and massal electrical conductivity test in different imbibition periods. The experimental material consisted of seeds of the Gallesia integrifolia, Handroanthus chrysotrichus, Lonchocarpus campestris and Pterogyne nitens. For the individual method, 80 repetitions of one seed were used, which were placed in individual containers containing 50 ml of distilled water. The following imbibition periods were evaluated: 2, 4, 6, 8, 24 and 48 hours. The tests were placed in a...

Silvicultural characterization of the canafistula (Peltophorum dubium (Sprengel) Taubert) Sci. Agrar.Paran. / SAP
Bertolini, Iris Cristina; Brun, Eleandro José; Debastiani, Aline Bernarda.
This study aimed to systematize the information on forestry canafistula (Peltophorum dubium (Sprengel) Taubert), one of the most important timber species native to Brazil. The canafistula is found from Bahia to Rio Grande do Sul, has widespread use and acceptance of its products and by-products, depending on the wood quality, moderately heavy, hard, durable, high commercial value and potential in the Brazilian timber market. Can be used on furniture, leather tanneries, construction, paper industry, urban forest reclamation, fuel wood and energy. For this reason, it is important to know the behavior of the species as the silvicultural techniques that should be applied in the production of seedlings, establishment and management of the forest, management of...
