Remarques sur la sexualité de la sardine, clupea pilchardus walb. ArchiMer
Belloc, G; Desbrosses, P.
During our studies on the biology of the sardine from the French Atlantic coast, over the 1929 fishery, we noticed some specificities in this fish's sexuality. In particular, we observed some differences between the male and female individuals from each of the studied batches. These differences are of the same order and show a constant character. Some sexual dimorphism facts tally with the fragmentary observations of L. Fage on the sardines from the entire French coast, Arné on the individuals caught South of the Gironde, and Le Gall on the celans from the English Channel. The observations we made can be used as a basis for a global study on the sexuality and the dimorphism in the sardine.

Traumatismes de le bouche chez la dorade commune. Les problèmes qu'ils posent, concernant la biologie de cette espèce ArchiMer
Desbrosses, P.
Some authors have already underlined a case of mouth malformation in the common bream (Pagelius centrodontus Delaroche). This way Yarrell (1), Dunn, Garstang (2) each observed a short nosed bream, which didn't have intermaxillary bone. As this anomaly had not been observed only on the coasts of Cornwall, Garstang asked himself if it only existed in the Plymouth area and if its distribution should not be widened. Today, we answer this question: over two years, we had the opportunity to observe directly some of these monstrosities in the harbour of La Rochelle. We will study some of them.
