Etude de la contamination de la langouste blanche Panulirus argus et de la langouste brésilienne P. guttatus par la chlordécone le long de la côte atlantique de la Martinique. Campagnes 2011 ArchiMer
Bertrand, Jacques; Dromer, Clement; Reynal, Lionel.
Spiny lobsters are an important component of the coastal fisheries around the Martinique island. This study aimed to assess the contamination by kepone of the two main species Panulirus argus and P. guttatus in the main fishery area laying along the eastern coast of Martinique. The objectives of the study were to describe the distribution of the spiny lobster contamination in the area, to explore possible relationships with some biological parameters such as individual size, sex and colour of tegument, as well as characterize difference of kepone concentration between the muscle and soft flesh of the head, in view of helping the definition of further fishery management measures. The analyses were done from chemical analyses of 125 samples of spiny lobsters...

Distribution, prevalence, and genetic analysis of Panulirus argus virus 1 (PaV1) from the Caribbean Sea ArchiMer
Moss, Jessica; Behringer, Donald; Shields, Jeffrey D.; Baeza, Antonio; Aguilar-perera, Alfonso; Bush, Phillippe G.; Dromer, Clement; Herrera-moreno, Alejandro; Gittens, Lester; Matthews, Thomas R.; Mccord, Michael R.; Schaerer, Michelle T.; Reynal, Lionel; Truelove, Nathanial; Butler, Mark J..
The pathogenic virus Panulirus argus virus 1 (PaV1) was first discovered in Caribbean spiny lobsters Panulirus argus from the Florida Keys (USA) in 1999 and has since been reported in Belize, Mexico, and Cuba; its distribution in the wider Caribbean is unknown. We collected tissue samples from adult spiny lobsters from 30 locations in 14 countries bordering the Caribbean Sea and used molecular diagnostics to assay for the presence of PaV1. PaV1 occurred primarily in the northern areas of the Caribbean, where its prevalence was highest. The virus was not found in lobsters from the southeastern Caribbean, and its prevalence was lowest in the southwestern Caribbean. DNA sequence analysis was performed on a fragment of the viral DNA to examine the genetic...

Different means contributing to anchored FAD's fishing selectivity in the Lesser Antilles ArchiMer
Reynal, Lionel; Guyader, Olivier; Pau, Cedric; Mathieu, Heloise; Dromer, Clement.
In order to improve the sustainable development of FADs fishing, it is important to reduce the capture of juveniles or species that need a decrease in fishing effort, temporarily or definitively. Through previous statistics data coming from commercial fishing trips and new experimental fishing trips, we compared different gears and techniques selectivity for the species and the size of the capture around FADs. We also compared different type of bait used, the best hours to fish for better productivity and to target adults. Finally we look at the influence of the FAD distance from shore. We observed that fishers’ strategies have a critical influence on FADs setting and targeted species. The further the FAD is deployed and the better yield the fisherman...

Projet pilote du Système d’Informations Halieutiques (SIH) Martinique (2007-2010). Premières données sur la pêche en Martinique (2009-2010) ArchiMer
Reynal, Lionel; Demaneche, Sebastien; Guyader, Olivier; Bertrand, Jacques; Berthou, Patrick; Dromer, Clement; Maros, Emmanuel; Bruneau, Marie; Bellanger, Manuel; Merrien, Claude; Guegan, Fabrice; Lespagnol, Patrick; Pitel-roudaut, Mathilde; Jezequel, Michele; Leblond, Emilie; Daures, Fabienne.
