Un pas en avant : signalement septentrional de l’espèce Berghia verrucicornis (Costa, 1867) ArchiMer
Droual, Gabin; Bridier, Guillaume.
The nudibranch Berghia verrucicornis (Costa, 1867) was sampled during a citizen science survey along the Brittany coast as part of a macrofaunal species monitoring in the intertidal area. This note reports for the first time the occurrence of B. verrucicornis in Brittany. In addition, it is also the northernmost record for this species. Its distributional range is thereby increased by 200 km to the north.

Trait‐based approach to monitoring marine benthic data along 500 km of coastline ArchiMer
Boyé, Aurelien; Thiébaut, Éric; Grall, Jacques; Legendre, Pierre; Broudin, Caroline; Houbin, Céline; Le Garrec, Vincent; Maguer, Marion; Droual, Gabin; Gauthier, Olivier.
Aim β diversity and its linkages with ecosystem functioning remain poorly documented. This impedes our capacity to predict biodiversity changes and how they affect ecosystem functioning at scales relevant for conservation. Here, we address the functional implications of ongoing seafloor changes by characterizing at regional scale the taxonomic and functional α and β diversities of benthic habitats currently threatened by biotic homogenization. Location Western Europe. Methods Combining a trait‐based approach to benthic community monitoring data covering a 7‐year period and 500 km of coast, we explored the mechanisms governing community assembly in habitats associated with two types of foundation species, intertidal seagrass and subtidal maerl beds,...

First record of the aeolid nudibranch Trinchesia genovae (O’Donoghue, 1926) in Brittany (France) ArchiMer
Droual, Gabin.
Described in Italy and considered as a Mediterranean species, the aeolid nudibranch Trinchesia genovae (O’Donoghue, 1926) is reported for the first time in Brittany (north-west coast of France) in a maerl sample. This record confirms the occurrence of this species between Ireland and the Bay of Arcachon (France), where T. genovae has been previously identified, filling an important biogeographical gap in the Atlantic waters.

The spread goes on: the non-indigenous species Grandidierella japonica Stephensen, 1938 (Amphipoda: Aoridae) has reached Brittany (Gulf of Morbihan) ArchiMer
Droual, Gabin; Le Garrec, Vincent; Cabelguen, Jérôme; Gélinaud, Guillaume; Grall, Jacques.
For the first time in Brittany, the aorid amphipod Grandidierella japonica Stephensen, 1938 is reported in the Noyalo River (Gulf of Morbihan). The finding of ovigerous females suggests a well-established, self-sustaining population. Similarly to other European localities, we hypothesise that the shellfish farming industry is the main vector of introduction.
