O pinhão-manso (Jatropha curcas L.) é uma espécie oleaginosa perene que tem despertado interesse econômico para produção de biodiesel. A fim de viabilizar o cultivo dessa espécie, é fundamental determinar, entre outras coisas, as suas demandas nutricionais. Objetivou-se avaliar o crescimento inicial e a nutrição mineral do pinhão-manso, bem como a fertilidade do solo em razão da adubação fosfatada. O estudo foi desenvolvido sob estufa plástica, em delineamento experimental de blocos casualizados com quatro repetições. Abstract Eugenia dysenterica DC is a fruiting species endemic to the Brazilian Cerrado, belonging to the Myrtaceae family and popularly known as Cagaiteira. It has medicinal and antifungal properties, and has an important function in the ecosystem. Nevertheless, there are few studies about the maintenance of this species. Based on the hypothesis that alternative substrates should improve the yield of lettuce crops by producing better quality seedlings, the objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of different substrates on the production of seedlings of this species, and their growth in the field. The study was in two stages. The first consisted of the production of lettuce seedlings, and the second assessed their development in the field.
