Relationship between thermal properties of canola pods (without seed) with moisture content, porosity and chemical composition of pods CIGR Journal
Azadbakht, Mohsen; Ghajarjazi, Ehsan; Ghaderi-Far, Farshid.
Thermal properties of canola pods including coefficients of thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity and specific heat and chemical composition of rapeseed pods were measured at three levels of conventional canola varieties cultivated in the north of Iran (Hyola 50, Hyola 401 and Hyola 420) and in three times before harvest, while harvest and post-harvest. Then the relationship between the thermal properties of canola pods with chemicals, moisture and porosity were investigated. Conductivity coefficient was resulted from linear thermal method, the specific heat was obtained from mixing method and diffusion coefficients were calculated by the formula. The results showed that changes of variety and time of sampling were significant on thermal conductivity...

Effects of variety and plant spacing on weight, surface and yield of tobacco leaf (K326 and 347 Var.) CIGR Journal
Azadbakht, Mohsen; Ghajarjazi, Ehsan; Kiapei, Ali; Jafari, Hassan; Salehi, Ebrahim; Pishgar, Reza.
Tobacco is one of the important agricultural and industrial products which plays a crucial role in economics and income of the producing countries and tobacco’s leaves are actually used commercially. In this study, the effects of two tobacco varieties K326 and 347 in three plant spacing of 30, 40, and 50 cm (with density of 33333, 25000 and 20000 plants/ha) on physical properties and weight of tobacco leaves are discussed. The results of variance analysis showed that the ¬¬¬effects of variety and plant spacing on leaf surface in 5% level were significant. Interaction effect of these two factors wasn’t significant. Also results showed that independent and interaction effects of plant spacing and different varieties of tobacco on leaf weight were significant...

Effect of irrigation regimes and the plant density on shear strength and physical properties of Azivash (Corchorus Olitorius) stem CIGR Journal
Azadbakht, Mohsen; Ghajarjazi, Ehsan; Barzanooni, Esmat; Pourbagher, Roghayeh; Tajari, Neda.
Three irrigation regimes, 6, 12 and 18 days, the distance between seeds in four levels: 5,10, 15 and 20 cm (density, respectively, 80, 40, 27 and 20 plants per m2) and a row spacing of 25 cm was considered that was tested in a randomized complete block design with three replications. The results showed that the effect of irrigation on cutting force, shear strength and energy per unit area was meaningful at 5% level and the effect of plant density on cutting force was meaningful at 1% level, but was not meaningful on shear strength. Also showed interaction between irrigation and plant density on cutting force, shear strength and energy per unit area is not meaningful. It was observed that the effect of irrigation and plant density on the length, diameter...

Determining of the mechanical properties of unbroken canola pods CIGR Journal
Azadbakht, Mohsen; Ghajarjazi, Ehsan; Ghaderifar, Farshid.
The mechanical properties for the threshing mechanism design, distance setting and the size of thrasher for better threshing and less damage to the seeds were used. In this study the mechanical properties of unbroken pods of canola were investigated including failure force, failure deformation, failure strain, failure energy, toughness, and modulus of elasticity planted in three canola varieties in the fields of Aliabad city in Iran including Hyola 50, 401, and 420 at the three times of sampling in pre-harvest, harvest and post-harvest in two direction of loading (in the direction of small and medium diameter). Canola varieties had different moisture levels at the same time, and this moisture was measured as a sub factor. The results show that moisture...

Determination of some constant parameters during cutting of canola stem CIGR Journal
Azadbakht, Mohsen; Torshizi, Mohammad Vahedi; Ghajarjazi, Ehsan; Ziaratban, Armin.
In this study, the canola stalk cutting parameters including modulus of mass density of stalk, special work of useful cutting, coefficient of cutting useful work and crush resistance coefficient were examined.  For the tests, testing machine Instron (Model Santam STM-5) with 50 N load cell was used.  Cutting was performed with a saw-serrated cutting blade that was attached to the Instron movable jaw.  Stems were cut at three diameter levels (1 to 3, 3 to 5 and more than 5 mm), three cutting speed levels (75, 115 and 150 mm/minute), three cutting angles (0°, 30° and 60°) and three replicates.  Cutting parameters including modulus of mass density of stalk, special work of useful cutting, coefficient of cutting useful work and crush resistance coefficient...

Application of Artificial Neural Network (ANN) in predicting mechanical properties of canola stem under shear loading CIGR Journal
Azadbakht, Mohsen; Torshizi, Mohammad Vahedi; Ziaratban, Armin; Ghajarjazi, Ehsan.
In this study, at first the shear parameters including the maximum shear force, shear strength, shear energy and power consumption of canola stem were calculated through force-deformation curve; and then these mechanical properties were determined and predicted using artificial neural network.   For the tests, testing machine Instron (Model Santam STM-5) with 50 N load cell was used.  Stems were cut at 3 diameter levels (1 to 3, 3 to 5 and more than 5 mm), 3 cutting speed levels (75, 115 and 150 mm/min ), 3 cutting angles (0°, 30° and 60°) and three replicates.   Cutting parameters including maximum cutting force, shear strength; cutting energy; consumed power and cutting work were examined.  Tests lasted for each stem until the full cut.  Data...

Determination of some physical and mechanical properties of Barkat variety of broad bean CIGR Journal
Azadbakht, Mohsen; Ghajarjazi, Ehsan; Abdigaol, Farhad; Amiri, Emad.
In this research the effect of moisture at three levels (57, 67, and 77 %) on the physical properties of the Barkat bean variety including, including dimensions, geometric mean diameter, volume, sphericity index and the surface area was determined. And the influence of different moisture content levels (67,57 and 77%), in two loading orientation (longitudinal and transverse) and three loading speed (8,6 and 10 mm min-1) on the mechanical properties of the maximum deformation, rupture force, rupture energy, toughness and the power to break the broad bean was investigated. It was observed in the mechanical properties that moisture changes and loading speed were affective at 1% on rupture force, rupture energy, and toughness. Loading orientation was affective...
