This study provides an update on the ectoparasites (ticks and leeches) associated with Rhinoclemmys annulata and provides new accounts on the ectoparasites associated with R. nasuta, R. melanosterna andKinosternon leucostomum from the Pacific coast of Colombia. The presence ofAmblyomma sabanerae on R. nasuta and R. melanosterna provided two new host records for the tick species. Also, the documentation ofA. sabanerae from the Department of Valle del Cauca represents a new department record for the species in Colombia. Placobdella ringueleti was identified fromR. nasuta and K. leucostomum, which represents a new host record for the leech species, as well as a significant extension of the known range. ABSTRACT The spatial distribution of the epipelagic Euphausiids was investigated during the first Colombian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica -Expedición Caldas- in the Gerlache Strait during the austral summer of 2015. Surface zooplankton was collected at 20 oceanographic stations with a simple conical net of 0.6 m in diameter mouth and 200 µm of mesh net. Four euphausiid species were collected in 70 % of the sampling stations: Euphausia crystallorophias Holt and Tattersall 1906, Euphausia superba Dana 1850, Thysanoessa sp. and Thysanoessa macrura Sars 1883. ABSTRACT The Cortez rainbow wrasse, Thalassoma lucasanum, is an abundant reef fish of the Eastern Tropical Pacific (ETP). Unlike other species of the genus Thalassoma that are recognized as cleaners, in T. lucasanum this behavior is rare, since it feeds mainly on invertebrates through foraging. However, information on the trophic ecology of this species is limited, especially in the ETP. In this study, we characterize the feeding habits of T. lucasanum in Gorgona Island (ETP) from analyzing its gut contents and calculating its trophic niche. Mollusks were the main food resource of T. lucasanum, being this the most important and frequent prey item found in 100 % of the stomachs analyzed (n = 5). RESUMEN Con el propósito de establecer la composición taxonómica del ensamblaje de heterópodos que habita en el Pacífico colombiano, se analizaron muestras de zooplancton recolectadas en marzo de 2014 a lo largo de un trayecto costa-océano. Se identificaron 12 especies pertenecientes a tres familias y tres géneros. Atlanta lesuerii fue la especie más abundante en el área de estudio. Además, se registran por primera vez a A. frontieri, A. oligogyra, A. inflata y A. plana en el Pacífico sudamericano, así como A. helicinoidea en el Pacífico colombiano. Esta investigación presenta la composición taxonómica, diversidad, abundancia relativa y distribución espacial de las larvas de crustáceos y poliquetos de aguas superficiales colectadas durante seis meses en bahía Málaga, Pacífico colombiano. Los muestreos se realizaron con colectas superficiales mensuales entre enero y junio de 2010. Simultáneamente, se registraron las variables fisicoquímicas de cada estación (salinidad, temperatura y oxígeno disuelto). RESUMEN Se estudió la biomasa del mesozooplancton y la composición y distribución del ensamblaje de copépodos epipelágicos en el Estrecho de Gerlache entre el 17 y el 22 de enero de 2015, como parte de la primera expedición colombiana a la Antártica. La biomasa integrada del mesozooplancton generalmente fue baja (<5 mg peso seco /m-2) en el área externa de la sección norte del Estrecho de Gerlache (entre el paso Crocker y la bahía Hughes) aunque hubo un notable incremento hacia el sur, con el mayor valor de biomasa (1,02 g peso seco /m-2) en la entrada de la bahía Wilhelmina, área central del estrecho.
