Three unsolved problems relating to symbiotic copepods of marine invertebrates are discussed: 1. The whereabouts of the unknown male of the gill parasite of lobsters, Nicothoe astaci. 2. The occurrence of very large and apparently post-reproductive females in the annelidicolous Cyclorhiza megalova. 3. The taxonomic status of certain members of the ascidicolous genus Notodelphys.

A new parasitic copepod crustacean of uncertain affinities: Megallecto thirioti n. gen., n. sp

A new genus and species of parasitic copepod, Megallecto thirioti, has been found in a horizontal plankton haul at 100 m depth in the eastern north Atlantic. Its host is very probably a pteropod mollusc belonging to the thecosome group. This copepod would appear to be related to Micrallecto uncinata Stock, 1971 and Nannallecto fusii Stock, 1973, but differs from both in its much larger size and in several important structural features.

Description de trois espèces nouvelles de Copépodes Notodelphyidae, trouvées dans la cavité pharyngienne d’Ascidies simples provenant de Sydney Harbour, Australie: Pachypygus australis n. sp. (dans Pyura pachydermatina), Doropygus flexus n. sp. (dans Pyura praeputialis) et Doropygus curvipes n. sp. (dans Cnemidocarpa etheridgii). Les deux espèces de Doropygus sont proches de D.pulex, représentant un groupe taxonomique dont les problèmes sont discutés.

Description of Lichomolgus eganae n. sp., a cyclopoid copepod collected from the ascidian Cnemidocarpa etheridgii Hartmeyer in the neighbourhood of Sidney Harbour, Australia, N.S.W. The new species is related with L. indicus Ummerkutty.
