| One of us (Bas, 1969: 436) described a mediterranean member of Amanita section Lepidella under the name A. gracilior, however, without validating this name because of scanty material and incomplete information on the fruit-bodies in fresh condition. Meanwhile, both the present authors have collected and extensively annotated this species, so that time has come to give it legal status. |
