| Soil and water salinity are the important constraints affecting rice production in several rice growing areas in Thailand especially, in Northeastern region. There were researches attempt to solve the problem such as land preparation, water and soil management, nutrient management and breeding for salt tolerant rice. However, those research results obtained were not the final solution for getting risk of the problem in saline paddy field. This probably dues to several factors existing in different environments and soil conditions in each area, which require different managements.
