REGULADOR DE CRESCIMENTO NA PRODUTIVIDADE E QUALIDADE DE SEMENTES DE AVEIA-BRANCA Planta Daninha
KASPARY,T.E.; LAMEGO,F.P.; BELLÉ,C.; KULCZYNSKI,S.M.; PITTOL,D..

Meloidogyne Species Associated with Weeds in Rio Grande do Sul Planta Daninha
BELLÉ,C.; KASPARY,T.E.; BALARDIN,R.R.; RAMOS,R.F.; ANTONIOLLI,Z.I..
ABSTRACT: The frequency of species of root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) was evaluated in weeds collected in different fallow farms in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. In the samples where the nematode was found, the species of the root-knot nematode was identified by electrophoresis using the isozyme esterase. They were obtained from weeds belonging to 24 weed species from 13 different botanical families: Amaranthaceae, Asteraceae, Commelinaceae, Convovulaceae, Cyperaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Lamiaceae, Malvaceae, Oxalidaceae, Poaceae, Portulacaceae, Solanaceae, Verbenaceae. Meloidogyne javanica Est J3 (Rm: 1.0, 1.25, 1.40) was the most frequent species and occurred in 53.3% of the samples. M. arenaria with phenotype Est. A2 (Rm: 1.20, 1.30) was...

Reproduction of Pratylenchus zeae on Weeds Planta Daninha
BELLÉ,C.; KASPARY,T.E.; KUHN,P.R.; SCHMITT,J.; LIMA-MEDINA,I..
ABSTRACT Weeds can be hosts of root-lesion nematode (Pratylenchus spp.), maintaining or increasing their population in the soil. The objective of this study was to evaluate the reaction of 25 weeds species to the nematode Pratylenchus zeae. The weed plants were individually inoculated with 1,000 individuals of P. zeae and maintained in a greenhouse for 90 days. After this period, eggs and nematodes were extracted, quantified, and the reproduction factor (RF = final population/initial population) was calculated. All tested weeds were susceptible (RF>1) to P. zeae, and the species Brachiaria decumbens, Rhynchelytrum repens, Digitaria insularis, D. horizontalis, B. brizantha were the most susceptible to this parasite.

Leaf Consumption and Preference to Conyza sp., Conventional and Bt Soybean by Helicoverpa armigera Planta Daninha
CUTTI,L.; MURARO,D.S.; SILVA,V.A.; KASPARY,T.E.; BASSO,C.J.; ROGGIA,S..
ABSTRACT: Helicoverpa armigera caterpillars are polyphagous and exhibit high migratory potential. Given the traits of this pest, alternative hosts located in or near the crop stand may support the survival and permanence of H. armigera in the field. The aim of this study was to investigate Conyza sp. as a food source for H. armigera caterpillars in scenarios with conventional and Bt soybean. Two experiments were conducted in biochemical oxygen demand incubators. The first assessed consumption of conventional soybean, Bt soybean and Conyza sp. leaves by 3rd and 5th instar caterpillars, with no choice given (no-choice test). The second test evaluated the food preference of 3rd instar H. armigera larvae, with two choices given (dual-choice test). Fifth instar...

INVESTIGATION OF THE MECHANISM OF RESISTANCE TO GLYPHOSATE HERBICIDE IN HAIRY FLEABANE Planta Daninha
KASPARY,T.E.; LAMEGO,F.P.; LANGARO,A.C.; RUCHEL,Q.; AGOSTINETTO,D..
ABSTRACT The resistance of weeds to herbicides is a consequence of one or more mechanisms in the plant, responsible for not allowing the herbicide to act properly at the active site. The objective of this study was to investigate the mechanism(s) of resistance to glyphosate in Conyza bonariensis. An experiment was conducted in November and December, 2012 and repeated in February and March, 2013 using a factorial arrangement of the treatments, where the factor A corresponded to biotypes of hairy fleabane, susceptible (S) and resistant (R); the factor B to seven rates of glyphosate from 0 to 11,520 g e.a. ha-1, and factor C were simulated environmental conditions of winter (12/8 oC day/night of temperature and 10/14 h of photoperiod) and summer (28/20 oC...
