During several investigations of the marine bottom fauna of the Adriatic Sea in 1972 and 1973 19 species belonging to the polychaete family Paraonidae - an abundant group in this kind of sediment - were collected. Three new species : Paraonides myriamae sp. n., Aricidea (Allia) pseudannae sp. n., Aricidea (Allia) mariannae sp. n. are described, their taxonomic positions discussed, and some ecological data are given. In addition only a part of a specimen Arkidea sp. was obtained but certainly it belongs to a new species. [NOT CONTROLLED OCR] |

The Chrysopetalidae family is represented in the Mediterranean Sea by two species of the genus Chrysopetalum, C. debile (Grube, 1855) and C. caecum (Langer-Hans, 1880). A third form has been observed on the Lebanese coast, on organogenous sandy beds, at depths of 10 metres, by Laubier (1966, p. 11) under the name "Chrysopetalidae gen. sp.?". New collections conducted on the Spanish Catalan coast (bay of Rosas) lead Ramos (1973) to refer this species to the genus Heteropale Johnson, 1897. [...] |

Four species of the genus Fauveliopsis are described or revised: F. brevis (HARTMAN, 1965) F. adriatica sp.n., F. fauchaldi sp.n., and one form that is closely related to F. adriatica. HARTMAN (1971) stated the genus only for the deep sea, but this study makes sure that Fauveliopsis species are also inhabiting shallow regions of the sea: F. adriatica was found in a depth of 60 m. A complete dichotomous key of all hitherto known species of the genus Fauveliopsis concludes this paper. [NOT CONTROLLED OCR] |
