Blast and bacterial leaf blight diseases are major diseases, which cause severe losses to yield and quality of rice in north eastern region. An evaluation of reaction of rice cultivars/lines to blast and bacterial leaf blight is one of the activities under the program of germplasm improvement in north eastern region with the objective of selecting for the rice lines resistant to leaf and neck blast and to bacterial leaf blight. The experiments were carried out in 2013 at Sakon Nakorn Rice Research Centre using 99 rainfed lowland rice lines and 35 irrigated rice lines.
