Lophopodella pectinatelliformis nov. spec. (Bryozoa-Phylactolaemata) Naturalis
Lacourt, A.W..
A new species of freshwater Bryozoa has been found at Patua, Sumatra by Dr. A. Holleman-Haye. It belongs to the genus Lophopodella which has an Aethiopean-Indian range. The genus Lophopodella is characterised by its large oval statoblast, large capsule and broad annulus. This annulus possesses one or more spines at the poles. These spines are studded with very small anchor-like hooklets. The genus Lophopodella is closely related to the genus Pectinatella. The statoblasts of the latter genus may bear large spines without hooklets or, on the other hand, a great number of small spines (or hooklets) which are directly placed on and around the entire margin, as e.g. in Pectinatella gelatinosa Oka. Characteristic of the new species of Lophopodella is that the...

Contribution à la connaissance de la faune marine de la region d'Arcachon Naturalis
Lacourt, A.W..

Freshwater Bryozoa (Phylactolaemata) from Curaçao, Aruba and Bonaire Naturalis
Lacourt, A.W..
The Phylactolaemata-fauna of Curaçao, Aruba and Bonaire, as it appears from the samples collected by dr P. Wagenaar Hummelinck, is connected with the fauna of the South-American mainland. The material belongs to three species only: Hyalinella agilis — Curaçao, Aruba, Bonaire — in temporary or semi-permanent pools, rarely in (possibly) permanent pools (e.g. Sta. 44), and in rock crevices (Sta. 58) — in water with about 30-2000 mg Cl/1. Hyalinella osburni — Aruba, Bonaire — in temporary muddy pools — in water with about 40-200 mg Cl/1. Plumatella annulata — Curaçao, Klein Bonaire — in a temporary muddy pool (Sta. 82) and in cavern water of a limestone plateau (Sta. 61) — in water of about 400-500 mg Cl/1.

A monograph of the freshwater Bryozoa-Phylactolaemata Naturalis
Lacourt, A.W..
1. This paper presents the taxonomy of the Bryozoa Phylactolaemata. The group is found to contain a number of series. The present classification reveals that a number of specific names are synonyms. 2. The evolution of the group is described on the basis of the development of the zoarium and the species-specific statoblasts. 3. The Phylactolaemata are to be considered as a group that have completed their evolution with the development of giant species with giant and specialized forms of statoblasts; this has been accompanied by a reduction in the number of tentacles. 4. The distribution of the species was assessed from the available data. The main concentration is found to occur in the southern hemisphere. 5. The distribution supports the conclusion that...

List of egg-capsules of Rajidae washed ashore in the Netherlands Naturalis
Lacourt, A.W..
Egg-capsules of the following four Raja-species have been known with certainty for many years from the shores of the Netherlands: Raja clavata Linnaeus, Raja montagui Fowler (Raja maculata Montagu), Raja radiata Donovan, and Raja batis Linnaeus. It is therefore of interest to note that from 1931 to 1935 and in 1936 egg-capsules diverging strongly from the well-known species, have been found on the beach between Wassenaar and Noordwijk (in the province of South-Holland). These capsules appeared to belong to the following five species: Raja brachyura Lafont, Raja naevus Müller and Henle, Raja undulata Lacépède, Raja microcellata Montagu, and Raja marginata Lacépède. The determinations have been made with Clark's (1922) paper, with the exception of Raja...
