Study examines the economic efficiency in organic rice production in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Yasothon, Surin and Phatthalung province. Data for the study was collected from 223 organic rice farmers in the 5 provinces. Production function analyses which incorporate the conventions test of economic and technical efficiencies were use as the analytical technique. Finding resealed that gained the economical return in term the ratio of net income over the production cost of 6.7, 4.3, 3.6, 2.3 and 1.2 in Surin, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phatthalung and Yasothon respectively. Further environmental effect was the factor is the most influencing farmer decision to change production cost rather than market price, marketing and outside supporting. |
