Biodiversity and human-pathogenicity of Phialophora verrucosa and relatives in Chaetothyriales Naturalis
Li, Y.; Xiao, J.; Hoog, , G.S. de; Wang, X.; Wan, Z.; Yu, J.; Liu, W.; Li, R..
Phialophora as defined by its type species P. verrucosa is a genus of Chaetothyriales, and a member of the group known as ‘black yeasts and relatives’. Phialophora verrucosa has been reported from mutilating human infections such as chromoblastomycosis, disseminated phaeohyphomycosis and mycetoma, while morphologically similar fungi are rather commonly isolated from the environment. Phenotypes are insufficient for correct species identification, and molecular data have revealed significant genetic variation within the complex of species currently identified as P. verrucosa or P. americana. Multilocus analysis of 118 strains revealed the existence of five reproductively isolated species apparently having different infectious potentials. Strains of the...

Review of the genus Craspedolcus Enderlein sensu lato in China, with the description of a new genus and four new species (Hymenoptera, Braconidae, Braconinae) Naturalis
Li, Y.; Achterberg, C. van; Chen, X.-x..
A new genus is split off the genus Craspedolcus Enderlein, 1920 (Hymenoptera, Braconidae, Braconinae): Maculibracon gen. n. with type species Maculibracon abruptus sp. n. The genus Craspedolcus Enderlein sensu stricto is redefined, a key to both genera and to their species in China, Thailand and Vietnam is included. Craspedolcus obscuriventris Enderlein, 1920, (syn. n.) is a new synonym of C. vagatus (Smith, 1858), as Ipobracon maculicosta Enderlein, 1920 and Iphiaulax bhotanensis Cameron, 1907 of Maculibracon simlaensis (Cameron, 1899), comb. n. The genus Craspedolcus is recorded from China for the first time with two species: Craspedolcus fraternus Enderlein, 1920, and C. politus sp. n. The genus Maculibracon is represented by three species in China: M....

Vibrios associated with Penaeus chinensis (Crustacea: Decapoda) larvae in Chinese shrimp hatcheries OMA
Vandenberghe, J.; Li, Y.; Verdonck, L.; Li, J.; Sorgeloos, P.; Xu, H.S.; Swings, J..
Bacteriological surveys were performed in 1995 and 1996 in three shrimp hatcheries located in the north of the People’s Republic of China. Samples were taken from routine productions of healthy Penaeus chinensis larvae, their environment and from diseased larvae. A total of 186 isolates from the dominant bacterial flora was characterized by Biolog metabolic fingerprinting and identified by comparison to a database of 850 Vibrio type- and reference strains. Representative Vibrio harveyi strains were further genotypically analyzed by AFLP fingerprinting of whole-genomes. An overwhelming predominance of V. alginolyticus and V. harveyi was observed in the larval developmental stages...
