In recent years, Lasiodiplodia theobromae, has become an important pathogenic agent to many crops. It has been widely spread in all tropical and subtropical regions of the world. The increasing extension of diseases caused by L. theobromae in tropical fruits has caused enormous losses. Therefore, the need for basic knowledge about this pathogen is a must. This study aimed to characterize isolates of L. theobromae, evaluating the cultural aspects and pathogenicity in seedlings of Spondias cytherea in Northeast Brazil. The mycelial growth, colony morphology and pathogenicity of isolates on S. cytherea were evaluated. The results showed variation in mycelial growth and pathogenicity of L. theobromae in S. cytherea. It was also observed that there is a... |
