Anvendelse af falsk såbed, blindharvning og flammebehandling i højværdiafgrøder Organic Eprints

På baggrund af nærværende undersøgelse med såløg har det ikke været muligt at påvise væsentlige forskelle mellem blindharvning og flammebehandling anvendt 1-2 dage før løgenes fremspiring. Da blindharvning er en betydelig billigere og mere miljøvenlig metode end flammebehandling, vil det være relevant yderligere at undersøge mulighederne for at anvende blindharvning i højværdiafgrøder. Undersøgelserne viste også, at tidspunktet for blindharvning godt kan foregå 4-6 dage før fremspiring frem for 1-2 dage før, uden at effekterne mod ukrudt derved svækkes væsentligt. Tidligere blindharvning kan være ønskeligt i øverligt såede kulturer som såløg og -porre for at mindske risikoen for at skade kulturfrøenes kimstængler. Falsk såbed anvendt i såløg havde...

Combining physical, cultural and biological methods: prospects for integrated non-chemical weed management strategies Organic Eprints

Physical, cultural and biological methods for weed control have developed largely independently and are often concerned with weed control in different systems: physical and cultural control in annual crops and biocontrol in extensive grasslands. We discuss the strengths and limitations of four physical and cultural methods for weed control: mechanical, thermal, cutting, and intercropping, and the advantages and disadvantages of combining biological control with them. These physical and cultural control methods may increase soil nitrogen levels and alter microclimate at soil level; this may be of benefit to biocontrol agents, although physical disturbance to the soil and plant damage may be detrimental. Reducing intra-row weed numbers in row crops by means of a biennial cultivation system Organic Eprints

Intra-row weed emergence in row crops can be reduced by means of a biennial cultivation system that is based on an exhaustion of the weed seedbank in the upper soil layer of crop-free bands established in a preceding cereal crop, year I, prior to the row crop, year II. In this study, a series of field experiments is presented focussing more specifically on the influence of prevention of weed seed shedding and of different cultivation tactics in the system on intra-row weed emergence in the bands in year II. As the system excludes inverting soil tillage between year I and year II, the prevention of weed seed shedding in year I turned out to be a key factor for achieving the desired effect of the system. Effects of cultural methods and physical weed control on intrarow weed numbers, manual weeding and marketable yield in direct-sown leek and bulb onion Organic Eprints

Manual weeding of intrarow weeds in seeded leek and bulb onion grown organically can be very labour-intensive. Four field experiments, two in direct-sown leek (Allium porrum L.) and two in direct-sown bulb onion (Allium cepa L.), were made in this investigation to study the effects of physical and cultural methods on intrarow weed numbers, time consumption for hand-weeding and marketable yield parameters. The physical methods considered were: pre-emergence flaming and harrowing, and post-emergence hoeing close to the row (only leek) and vertical brush weeding. The cultural methods were: seed priming, slurry placement, and cultivar choice (only leek). Fire markforsøg blev gennemført med henblik på at undersøge ukrudts- og udbytteeffekter af radrensning med og uden ukrudtsharvning i vinterrug og -byg om foråret under indflydelse af dyrkningsfaktorerne: rækkeafstand, gødningsudbringning og udsædsmængde. Resultaterne kan sammenfattes til følgende konklusioner: · Radrensning kunne lettere gennemføres på 24 cm’s rækkeafstand og med bedre ukrudtseffekt end på 12 cm · Ukrudtsharvning udført lige efter radrensning, og ved samme hastighed som denne, forbedrede bekæmpelseseffekterne med 17-39% · En forbedring af kornets konkurrenceevne mod ukrudt i selve kornrækken gennem en øget kornplantebestand eller ved placering af gødningen forbedrede bekæmpelseseffekterne af mekanisk bekæmpelse med 20-30%, således...

Nærværende artikel beskriver de senere års erfaringer og resultater med bekæmpelse af ukrudt i rækken i økologiske frilandsgrønsager, som kendes fra praksis og fra de markforsøg, som i forskningsmæssigt regi er gennemført nationalt og i nærmeste udland. Udplantning fremfor udsåning af grønsager fører almindeligvis til færre ukrudtsproblemer. Behovet for manuel lugning er betydeligt mindre, og det er i dag muligt at gennemføre mekanisk ukrudtsbekæmpelse med et rimeligt resultat i kulturer som kål og knoldselleri. I andre kulturer som f.eks. plantede porre og løg kan udplantning kombineret med ukrudtsharvning også føre til et meget lille håndlugningsbehov, men erfaringsgrundlaget stadig er ret begrænset.
