Following a number of expeditions we have been in charge of (in 1949 in Reunion Island, - in spring 1950 in Madeira, Canaries and the Azores Islands, - in 1950- 1951 in Martinique and Guadeloupe, - at the beginning of the summer 1951 in the Azores Islands and on the Cantabrian coast, during the cruises of the "Président Théodore Tissier"), we got to study more specifically the Scombroid group, largely represented in the waters of the Mascareignes Islands, the Caribbean Sea and, closer to us, the Eastern Atlantic Ocean. |
