This study analyzes the relationship between the changes in the energy balance components and the muskmelon stomatal resistance under plastic mulch conditions. This experiment was conducted in a muskmelon crop with and without plastic mulch, from April to July, 1998. To measure the energy balance components (net radiation (Rn), latent heat flux LE, sensible heat flux H and surface soil flux G). Eddy covariancestations were used; one was located in the plastic mulch section and the otherin the section withno plastic mulch.Each stationconsisted offast response kryptonhygrometer, aonedimensionalsonic anemometer anda fine wirethermocouple.
