Results from an experimental research on germination of Vriesa incurvata Gaudich. carried out in Rio da Onça State Park (Matinhos-PR- Brasil, October -December/2003) are presented. With the goal of producing seedlings of this species, the experiment was conducted in a natural environment under forest canopy on substrates of low cost and easy accessibility for rural producers, seeking to reproduce the situation and infrastructure available to coastal communities involved in the extraction of this species.
