| Twaalf jaar geleden waren er nog geen Nelima-soorten bekend uit ons land. In 2004 en 2006 werden respectievelijk N. sempronii en N. doriae ontdekt. Beide soorten komen ten zuidoosten van ons land voor, en hebben naar alle waarschijnlijkheid Nederland recent bereikt. In 2012 werd op de Maasvlakte een derde vertegenwoordiger van dit genus gevonden: Nelima gothica. De vindplaats lijkt te wijzen op introductie door de mens. Gezien het voorkomen in de ons omringende landen is echter niet uit te sluiten dat hij van oudsher tot onze fauna behoort of recent op eigen kracht Nederland heeft bereikt. Hij zou op meer plaatsen langs de kust kunnen voorkomen. We presenteren de nieuwe soort en geven een overzicht van de vier Noordwest-Europese Nelima-soorten. |

| Wie een steen of boomstronk omkeert en voor het eerst een Trogulus opmerkt, zal dit bizarre beest niet direct associëren met een hooiwagen. Met de korte, stevige poten, het afgeplatte achterlijf dat overdekt is met strooisel en zand, en een trage manier van voortbewegen is het een ongewone verschijning. De soorten van dit geslacht zijn bodembewoners die zich voornamelijk voeden met kleine huisjesslakken. Uit ons land waren tot nu toe twee soorten bekend. De identiteit van een van die twee was lang onzeker, maar door nieuwe inzichten is nu duidelijk om welke soort het werkelijk gaat. In Nederland blijkt bovendien nog een derde soort voor te komen, die hier voor het eerst gemeld wordt. |

| Myrmica hirsuta new for the Netherlands (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) Myrmica hirsuta is recorded for the first time from the Netherlands. A dealate female was collected in a pitfall trap between 14.v and 16.x.2003 near Nunspeet (Veluwe) in the province of Gelderland. The pitfall was situated in a vegetation of grey hair-grass Corynephorus canescens and hull heather Calluna vulgaris. Both host species Myrmica lonae and M. sabuleti were present in the direct area of the pitfall. Myrmica hirsuta is very rare throughout Europe and up till now unknown from Belgium and the German federal states bordering the Netherlands. |

| The corticolous fauna of plane trees: I. Arachnids (Arachnida: Araneae, Pseudoscorpiones, Acari) From February until September 2000 an inventory was made of the bark-dwelling arthropod fauna of more than 400 plane trees (Platanus hybrida), all over the Netherlands. Arthropods were collected from bark and under the ‘loose’ bark fragments at a height of 160-175 cm from the ground. Algae, mosses and fungi are important resources for the corticolous fauna. Crevices in the tree trunk and loose bark fragments form a habitat for a large number of arthropods. | Alle spinnen hebben gif in hun kaken om hun prooien te doden. Verreweg de meeste soorten kunnen de menselijke huid niet doorboren met hun kaken en zijn dus volkomen ongevaarlijk. Kogelspinnen uit het genus Latrodectus, oftewel weduwen, vormen een uitzondering. Deze exotische spinnen worden af en toe geïmporteerd in Nederland. In 2013 is het aantal vondsten van geïmporteerde Latrodectus-spinnen op een rij gezet in een risicobeoordeling, met als resultaat een lijst van tien records met bewijsmateriaal. | Recent observations on Harpalus griseus: is there a trend (Coleoptera: Carabidae)? Harpalus (Pseudoophonus) griseus is reported in literature to be a rare ground beetle in the Netherlands. Recently, many specimens of this species were observed or collected by means of pitfall traps, window traps and light traps. Besides a number of observations from heathland and drift sand areas in the Veluwe region, H. griseus was collected in several agricultural and anthropogenic habitats around Wageningen. | Ants in roadside verges on the Veluwe: species richness and recommendations for management (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) Highway verges in the Veluwe region contain some well developed nutrient poor plant communities, like grasslands, grey hair grass vegetation and heather vegetation. These places provide a good habitat for ants. The past five years, we made an inventory of the ants in these road verges. We found 35 species, which is more than 50% of the Dutch ant fauna and approximately 80% of the species known from the Veluwe. | Astrobunus laevipes is een hooiwagen die via het Rijnbekken recentelijk ons land is binnengekomen. Er waren al vondsten langs de Waal en Nederrijn in Gelderland en het meest oostelijke puntje van de provincie Utrecht. Door gerichte inventarisaties kunnen wij de hooiwagen nu nieuw voor de provincies Zuid-Holland en Noord-Brabant melden. Daarnaast is er van A. laevipes nu ook een waarneming langs de IJssel en enkele westelijker in de provincie Utrecht. Allerlei rivierbegeleidende biotopen langs (uitlopers van) de Nederrijn en Waal worden al door deze opmerkelijke hooiwagen bevolkt, maar de noordelijke uitbreiding via de IJsselvallei lijkt veel trager te verlopen. De Maas lijkt nog niet bereikt. |

| Soms gebeurt het dat een soort lange tijd een sluimerend bestaan leidt binnen een bepaald areaal en dan plotseling ‘op drift raakt’. In relatief korte tijd slaagt die soort erin nieuwe gebieden te koloniseren. Vaak wordt dat toegeschreven aan klimaatveranderingen. In de jaren 1990 hebben de zuidelijke hooiwagens Opilio canestrinii en Dicranopalpus ramosus ons land bereikt en zich in een dusdanig tempo verbreid dat ze nu tot de algemeenste soorten behoren. | Cucujus cinnaberinus is een recent voor Nederland ontdekte soort. De kever staat op de Habitatrichtlijn, wat onder meer betekent dat hij beschermd is en dat de populatie gemonitord dient te worden. Inventarisatie en monitoring gebeurt in het algemeen door het weghalen van schors van recent gestorven bomen. Hierdoor wordt het leefgebied van de kever echter flink aangetast. Wij voerden een klein onderzoek uit naar de mogelijkheden om C. cinnaberinus te vangen in azijnzuurvallen, zodat de habitat intact gelaten kan worden en de soort toch geïnventariseerd kan worden. | The springtail Isotomurus maculatus new to the fauna of the Netherlands (Insecta: Collembola) Isotomurus maculatus (Schäffer, 1896) is a southern European springtail, which is recorded here as new for the fauna of the Netherlands. Specimens were collected on five sites in different regions of the Netherlands. The sites, a garden, a roadside verge and a lane with trees can be characterised as synatropic with a large degree of disturbance. In northern Europe Isotomurus maculatus is a eurytopic species that colonises ruderal sites very quickly.
