Assessment of Termite mound Additive on Soil Physical Characteristics CIGR Journal
OMOFUNMI, Omofunmi Eric; OLADIPO, OLAPOSI ISAAC.
This study was performed to assess termite mound inherent property as additive forimprovement of soil strength in Nigeria. The mound on the Rhodic Acrisol was sampled fromtop at 0 - 60 cm, 60 - 120 cm and 120 - 180 cm intervals through a vertical section. For theRhodic Acrisol, three samples were sampled from depth at 0 – 60 cm, 60 – 120 cm and 120 –180 cm intervals through a vertical section.Termite mound sample was mixed with the two  soil samples separately, that is, termite mound and clayey soil in one part and termite moundand laterite soil in another part. Twenty trials experiment were conducted on the soils duringcompact test for soil mix ranging from 0 to 100 % at interval of 5 %.  The optimum moisturecontent obtained from the compaction test was...

DETERMINATION OF FIRE PERFOMANCE INDICES OF SELECTED BUILDING MATERIALS IN NIGERIA CIGR Journal
OMOFUNMI, Omofunmi Eric; ABIWO, DAMILOHUN JAMES.
Lack of knowledge of fire propagation index of building material used for building project has led to recurrent destruction of building by fire.  This study fire performance index of selected building materials was assessed. Fire propagation test was used to determine the fire performance indices. The building materials include imperial ceiling board, Aluminum Alloy, clay brick, Nigerite ceiling board, Iroko Hard wood (Chlorophora excelsa), Oomo hard wood (Cordial Spp); cement brick and Aluzinc examined and analysis. Majority (87.5 %) of the materials were under building regulations class 2. The result of performance index, show that imperial ceiling board has the highest performance index of 16.91, while Aluzinc has 3.11 as the least performance index....

Water loss, sediment deposition-pond age relationships in Lagos State, Nigeria CIGR Journal
OMOFUNMI, Omofunmi Eric.
The issue of sediment in aquatic environments has been a topic of concern for many decades because it harbouring pathogen and decrease water depth.  . The investigation was carried out to identify and proffer solutions to some environmental and management problems that have hitherto affected fish production sub-sector of the economy, using Lagos State, (Western) Nigeria  as a case study. Both surveying and experimental methods were used. The results indicated that of water loss from ponds resulting from evaporation and seepage ranged from 2.5 – 4.6 day-1. Percentage reduction in pond water depth during dry season ranged from 70 – 81 % as compared to the observed percentage increase during rainy season with range of values as, 17 – 34%. The mean rise and...
