Profitability and policy dependency of organic farms in selected European countries 21
Nieberg, Dr. Hiltrud; Offermann, Dr. Frank; Thobe, Petra; Zander, Dr. Katrin.
This paper provides an analysis of the impact of support payments on the profitability of organic farms in Europe under changing policy environments, using different data bases and different methodologies. Financial success of organic farms in Germany 21
Nieberg, Dr. Hiltrud; Offermann, Dr. Frank.

A comparison of successful with less successful farms, measured by the average difference in ‘Farm Net Value Added’ to comparable conventional farm groups, highlights that the success of the conversion is less dependent on structural and site-specific factors than on the management ability of the farmers – above all in the area of marketing
