| Since the beginning of the century, no serious attempt at salmon fishing had been undertaken in Saint-Pierre et Miquelon. Faced by a great lack of information and experience, it is understandable that this activity never attracted the archipelago's fishermen. Reaching its goals, we hope that the campaign launched by the ISTPM in 1975 answered this need. The presence of salmon in the archipelago's waters has been demonstrated as well as the possibility of exploiting this natural resource through common means usable by local artisanal fishermen. During our latest campaign, we found at least three good fishing sites and hope that new sites will be discovered in the future.
