The benthic hydroid fauna of the Chafarinas Islands (Alborán Sea, western Mediterranean) Naturalis
Peña Cantero, A.L.; García Carrascosa, A.M..
The benthic hydroid fauna of the Chafarinas Islands (Western Mediterranean), collected during a survey in the summer of 1991, has been studied. A total of 86 species, 20 athecate hydroids and 66 thecate hydroids, has been recorded. For every species, the synonymy, a survey of the material studied and data concerning ecology and distribution are included. The majority of the species has been figured and the most important have been (re)described.

Redescription of Schizotricha anderssoni Jaderholm, 1904 (Cnidaria: Hydrozoa) with the description of a new species. Notes on antarctic hydroids, 4 Naturalis
Peña Cantero, A.L.; Vervoort, W..
The type series of Schizotricha anderssoni Jäderhoim, 1904, collected by the Swedish Antarctic Expedition 1901-1903 and deposited in the collections of the Swedisch National Museum, Stockholm, is redescribed. The type series is composed of two species, the species figured by Jäderhoim (1905) is designated the lectotype of Schizotricha anderssoni. The second species, differing from the other species of the genus, is described as Schizotricha jaederholmi spec. nov.

On Clathrozoellidae (Cnidaria, Hydrozoa, Anthoathecatae), a new family of rare deep-water leptolids, with the description of three new species Naturalis
Peña Cantero, A.L.; Vervoort, W.; Watson, E.J..
Three new species of Anthoathecatae (Cnidaria, Hydrozoa) of the rare genus Clathrozoella Stechow, 1921, Clathrozoella abyssalis spec. nov., C. bathyalis spec. nov. and C. medeae spec. nov., are described from New Zealand and Antarctic waters. Along with the previously known C. drygalskii (Vanhöffen, 1910) the genus Clathrozoella now numbers four species. Details of the skeleton, hydranths, nematocysts and gonophores are described and discussed, as is also the position of the newly established family Clathrozoellidae.

On two new species of Oswaldella Stechow, 1919: O. terranovae spec. nov. and O. tottoni spec. nov. (Cnidaria: Hydrozoa). Notes on Antarctic hydroids, III Naturalis
Peña Cantero, A.L.; Vervoort, W..
The material assigned by Totton (1930) to Oswaldella antarctica (Jaderholm, 1904) and O. bifurca (Hartlaub, 1904) has been re-examined and redescribed. This material shows such important differences with Hartlaub's and Jäderholm's species and the remaining species of Oswaldella that they are here considered as two new species: O. terranovae spec. nov. and O. tottoni spec, nov., respectively.

On Oswaldella billardi Briggs, 1938 and O. erratum spec, nov., two antarctic hydroid species (Cnidaria, Hydrozoa) Naturalis
Peña Cantero, A.L.; Vervoort, W..
The type material of Oswaldella billardi Briggs, 1938, has been re-examined and a complete description and figures are presented. The study of that material has allowed to reconsider the systematic position of all the material previously assigned to O. billardi and to determine that part of it belongs to another species. Since it is clearly different from the remaining species of the genus, it is described as Oswaldella erratum spec. nov.

Sertularia echinocarpa Allman, 1888, an unexpected new species of Staurotheca Allman, 1888 (Cnidaria; Hydrozoa; Sertulariidae) Naturalis
Peña Cantero, A.L.; Vervoort, W..
The holotype of Sertularia echinocarpa Allman has been examined, re-described and figured to determine its actual systematic position. The species actually belongs to the genus Staurotheca, raising the number of known species for this genus to 25.

On two Antarctic species of Oswaldella Stechow, 1919: O. shetlandica Stepan'yants, 1979 and O. elongata spec. nov. (Cnidaria Hydrozoa) (Notes on Antarctic hydroids, II) Naturalis
Peña Cantero, A.L.; García Carrascosa, A.M.; Vervoort, W..
Two species of the antarctic hydroid genus Oswaldella Stechow, 1919, are considered. The first, described by Stepan'yants (1979) as a subspecies, O. billardi shetlandica, has been raised to specific level and will henceforth be indicated as Oswaldella shetlandica Stepan'yants, 1979. A second species is described as Oswaldella elongata spec. nov. Both species are differentiated against the remaining known species of Oswaldella; new records are added and the geographical distribution is discussed.

Species of Schizotricha Allman, 1883 (Cnidaria, Hydrozoa) from recent antarctic expeditions with R.V. 'Polarstern', with the description of a new species Naturalis
Peña Cantero, A.L.; Svoboda, A.; Vervoort, W..
Five species of the genus Schizotricha Allman, 1883, one of which is new to science, have been studied. The material originates from the Weddell Sea region and from off Elephant Island and it was collected during several antarctic expeditions with the R.V. Tolarstern'. Each species is described and figured and its systematic position among allied species discussed. The type material of Schizotricha glacialis (Hickson & Gravely, 1907) and S. turqueti Billard, 1906 has been re-examined and is also described and figured.

Redescription of Oswaldella antarctica (Jäderholm, 1904) (Cnidaria Hydrozoa) with notes on related species (Notes on Antarctic hydroids, I) Naturalis
Peña Cantero, A.L.; Vervoort, W..
Jäderholm's type of Schizotricha antarctica, collected by the Swedish Antarctic Expedition 1901-1903, is redescribed from a syntype in the collections of the Swedish National Museum, Stockholm. The type lot of that species proved to be composite, the material best resembling Jäderholm's (1904, 1905) descriptions and figures has been designated as the syntype. There are two more species in the type lot, that have also been described, but are too poorly represented to be either recognized as one of the described species of Oswaldella or to merit a new specific name; they have been indicated as Oswaldella spec. 1 and spec. 2. Resumen: Se ha revisado y redescrito el material tipo de Schizotricha antarctica Jäderholm, 1904, recogido durante la Swedish Antarctic...
