The study aimed to comparatively evaluate the partition of assimilates between biometrics and two cultivars of pepper over the crop cycle. Plants were collected from the fourteenth day after transplanting (DAT) at regular intervals of fourteen days after the transplant by the end of the crop cycle. Evaluations were made of dry leaves (Wf), stem (WC), root (WR), fruit (WFR) and the rate of dry matter production of leaves (Cf), stem (CC), root (Cr), fruit (CFR), number of leaves and plant height. The cultivar Vulcão presented a higher allocation of dry matter in leaf, stem and root, but the Doce gave a higher dry matter accumulation in fruit which is the part of commercial interest. |

The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of the level of artificial defoliation, applied in stages V6 and R2, on the quality and yield components of soybean seeds. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse in the municipality of Cascavel, Paraná State, Brazil. The experimental design was a randomized block with four replications, in a 5 x 2 x 2 factorial scheme (five levels of defoliation x two cultivars, two phenological stages (V6: fifth fully developed trifoliolate leaf and R2: full flowering), two growth habits). The analyzed variables were mass of 100 seeds, number of pods per plant, seed number per plant, seed number per pod, germination, dry matter of seedlings and length of shoot and roots of seedlings. Defoliation above 50%... |

The growth of plant species can be affected by waterlogging. This process occurs as result of physiological changes that occur at the plants. The study aimed to comparatively evaluate the growth and expression of seed vigor of common bean genotypes subjected to soil waterlogging. For each of the genotypes IPR Tuiuiú and Carioca, treatments consisted of combining soil waterlogging for 12 hours or kept at field capacity, and plant sample collection times. Plant samples were collected at every 20 day intervals, being determined dry mass, leaf area and seed vigor. The plants of genotype IPR Tuiuiú showed higher growth and similar expression of seed vigor under soil field capacity. In plants of genotype Carioca, soil waterlogging did not affect growth and... |

The soil waterlogging reduces oxygen content near the roots, affecting energy metabolism and absorption of water and nutrients. Thus, the objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different periods of soil waterlogging on physiological characteristics of initial growth in oat plants. The treatments consisted of soil in field capacity and soil flooding for 72 and 120 hours, with six replications. To analyze the initial growth were observed the number of leaves, leaf area, leaf area ratio and leaf weight, specific leaf area, dry weight of leaf, stem and roots, length of shoot and primary root. The increasing of the period of flooding reduced the accumulation of root dry matter, the leaf area and the specific leaf area. However, the length of... |
