Changes of late blight attack in conventional fields in the Nordic countries Organic Eprints
Hannukkala, Asko; Wiik, Lars; Pedersen, Henrik.
In Finland changes in the incidence and onset of potato late- blight epidemics were investigated and compared to possible changes in climate, presence of soil-borne inoculum, and aggressiveness of the blight population. In Sweden, Norway and Denmark late-blight occurs every year in potato crops, although the time of onset and the severity of the epidemic vary from one year to the next.

Changes of late blight attack in conventional fields in the Nordic countries Organic Eprints
Hannukkala, Asko; Wiik, Lars; Pedersen, Henrik.
In 2000s blight attacks one month earlier in Finland than in 1980s - observations in other Nordic countries similar. In trials rate of epidemic development has not changed, epidemics only start earlier - does not support general view of faster defoliation than before. In short rotations blight starts 10 days earlier than in good rotations - supported by data and observations in other Nordic countries.
