The objective of this research was the development of a knowledge base that can facilitate the gasifier selection mechanisms of biomass for energy production. For this, an expert system using the EXPERT FEEL as a tool was created, which recommends the best type of gasifier taking into account the characteristics of biomass to be used, the purpose of use of the synthesis gas generated and the desired thermal power. The knowledge base was obtained through the consultation of books and specialized articles in addition to consultation with experts in the biomass gasification branch.
