| From two series of specimens of the genus Heterospio (Polychaetous Annelids, sedentaria) collected in the western Mediterranean, the authors describe two new species : the first one (H. mediterranena sp. n.) lives in bathyal muds, the second one ( H . reducta sp. n.) inhabits the abyssal plain. The two new species are compared with the two (or three) other species previously known. These samples corroborate the recent discovery of a single specimen of this rare genus in the Mediterranean.
