| The Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) established farming systems comparison trials in Bolivia, Kenya and India (SysCom). Besides long-term experiments, the program includes a participatory on-farm research (POR) component which aims at solving the most urgent problems of local farmers. In India, these related to nutrient management, organic pest control and seed availability, which were tackled using a combination of on-farm and on-station trials. We here present the methods, results and lessons learnt of the activities implemented in the POR component of SysCom in India. |
