Rabbit fattening in mobile cages on pasture is one of the most effective ways to convert cheap and abundant grass into a healthy, sustainably produced meat product of high nutritious value without competing for human food resources. Efforts to develop a functional and dependable system failed in various occasions over the last years. Barricades preventing rabbits from escaping through digging as well as barricades against predators are the link to combine mobility and reliability to operate an outdoor husbandry system properly. This project developed a mobile cage for 50-100 rabbits with an effective technical barricade without compromising mobility.
