Photosynthetic Performance of Glyphosate Resistant and Glyphosate Susceptible Hairy Fleabane under Light Intensity Planta Daninha
SILVA,D.R.O.; VARGAS,L.; AGOSTINETTO,D.; SANTOS,F.M..
ABSTRACT: Herbicide resistance can confer lower competitive abilities; however scarse information is available about the photosynthetic performance between glyphosate-resistant and -susceptible hairy fleabane biotypes coming from areas with similar weed management history. Thus, the goal was to evaluate the photosynthetic performance under different light intensities between glyphosate-resistant and -susceptible hairy fleabane biotypes, from RR soybean fields with a similar weed management history. The tested factors were glyphosate resistant and susceptible biotypes and 12 levels of photosynthetic photon flux density. Plants were cultivated in plastic cups, and at the stage of 10-12 leaves they were subjected to treatments with artificial lighting...

Relative Competitiveness of Common Bean Cultivars in Coexistence with Volunteer Corn Planta Daninha
AGUIAR,A.C.M.; BASSO,C.J.; SILVA,D.R.O.; GHELLER,D.P.; NOVELLO,B.D.; RIEDER,E..
ABSTRACT: This study evaluated the relative competitiveness of two common bean cultivars in coexistence with volunteer corn emerging at different times in different proportions of plants in the association. Firstly, for both beans and volunteer corn, the plant population was determined in which the final production of dry biomass becomes constant (24 plants pot-1). A completely randomized experiment design, with five replicates, was carried out in a 2×2×5 factorial scheme, involving two common bean cultivars (IPR Gralha and Fepagro Triunfo), two emergence times of volunteer corn plants (-7 and 0 days in relation to beans) and five proportions of plants in the association (100:0, 75:25, 50:50, 25:75 and 0:100). At 35 days after bean emergence, measurements...

Interference and Economic Threshold Level of Volunteer Corn in Soybean Planta Daninha
AGUIAR,A.C.M.; BASSO,C.J.; MURARO,D.S.; PANSERA,E.; SILVA,D.R.O..
ABSTRACT: Volunteer corn is considered a weed when its emergence occurs during the crop cycle in succession, as is the case of volunteer corn plants of hybrids of Roundup Ready (RR) in crops implanted with RR soybean cultivars. The objective of this study was to verify the effect of the interference of different RR plant densities on the RR soybean crop, as well as to estimate the level of economic damage (NDE). For this, a field experiment was carried out at two sites in a factorial scheme with four replications, the treatments consisted of densities of volunteer corn RR (0; 1; 2; 3; 4; 5; 6; 7 and 8 plants m-2) competing in the entire soybean cycle. The changes in morphology and yield components behaved directly proportional to the increment of volunteer...

MOLECULAR CHARACTERIZATION OF HAIRY FLEABANE USING RAPD Planta Daninha
SILVA,D.R.O.; AGOSTINETTO,D.; VARGAS,L..
ABSTRACT With the increase of glyphosate resistance evolution in hairy fleabane, the knowledge of genetic diversity is essential to assist in the weed management. The objective was to characterize the genetic diversity of glyphosate resistant Conyza species in Rio Grande do Sul. Hairy fleabane biotype seeds were collected in fields of glyphosate-resistant soybean, generating seedlings used for extracting DNA from the leaves to perform a genetic diversity analysis, using the RAPD technique. The DNA was used in polymerase chain reaction and DNA fragments were assessed for polymorphism bands in electrophoresis. Biotypes were identified as Conyza bonariensis and microcephala varieties. In molecular analysis, among 25 primers RAPD, eight were reproducible...

Interference of Brassicaceae and Poaceae on Canola Hybrids Planta Daninha
SILVA,D.R.O.; AGUIAR,A.C.M.; GHELLER,D.P.; NOVELLO,B.D.; BASSO,C.J..
ABSTRACT: The objective of this study was to evaluate the initial competitive ability of canola hybrids against Brassicaceae and Poaceae species in terms of root and shoot resources. Two experiments were conducted in greenhouse, in a completely randomized design with four replications. The treatments consisted of interference conditions by root + shoot interference (root+shoot) and shoot interference (Light); and Brassicaceae and Poaceae weeds competing with hybrid of canola (Hyola 61 and Diamond) with different traits for competitiveness. The plant height, root length, dry matter of shoot and root, number of leaves and leaf area were evaluated. Data were compared using orthogonal contrasts. The turnip and volunteer canola reduced root development of the...
