Conodont faunas from Portugal and southwestern Spain Part 4. A Famennian conodont fauna near Nerva (Rio Tinto) Naturalis
Boogaard, M. van den; Schermerhorn, L.J.G..
A Middle to Upper Bispathodus costatus Zone conodont fauna is described from the top of the Phyllite-Quartzite Group in the Iberian Pyrite Belt. The colour of the conodonts is in agreement with the very-low-grade regional metamorphism in the pumpellyite facies.

Conodont faunas from Portugal and southwestern Spain Part 2. A Famennian conodont fauna at Cabezas del Pasto* Naturalis
Boogaard, M. van den; Schermerhorn, L.J.G..
A Famennian conodont fauna is described. The possible relationship between Palmatodella cf. delicatula, Prioniodina? smithi and other forms in Famennian faunas is discussed.

Conodont faunas from Portugal and southwestern Spain Part 3. Carboniferous conodonts at Sotiel Coronada Naturalis
Boogaard, M. van den; Schermerhorn, L.J.G..
Samples from limestones occurring stratigraphically between and near to the pyrite lenses at Sotiel Coronada in the Spanish Pyrite Belt yielded several technically deformed conodonts of Early Visean age.

Conodont faunas from Portugal and southwestern Spain Part 6. A Lower Famennian conodont fauna at Monte do Forno da Cal (South Portugal) Naturalis
Boogaard, M. van den; Schermerhorn, L.J.G..
A Lower marginifera Zone conodont fauna is described from the Phyllite-Quartzite Group in the Estação de Ourique anticline in the Iberian Pyrite Belt. The composition of the fauna is indicative of a shallow to very shallow marine environment.

Framework and evolution of Hercynian mineralization in the Iberian Meseta Naturalis
Schermerhorn, L.J.G..
The Hercynian cycle, starting in Late Precambrian times and terminated at the end of the Palaeozoic, is associated in the Iberian Peninsula with the deposition of a wide variety of metallic and nonmetallic mineral resources. The most famous of these are the base-metal sulphides of the Iberian Pyrite Belt (Rio Tinto and other deposits), tin and tungsten (Panasqueira), and mercury (Almadén). The depositional stage of the Hercynian cycle saw the accumulation of syngenetic mineral deposits, resulting from the interplay of palaeogeographical, sedimentary and volcanic controls. During and after the following orogenic stage, epigenetic minerals originated through magmatic activity, mostly as direct deposits from magmatic-derived fluids and also indirectly through...
