| Se describe e ilustra una nueva especie de psicódido no hematófago, Trichomyia andina, a partir de machos recolectados en el Departamento de Risaralda, Colombia. Este psicódido pertenece al subgénero Opisthotrichomyia Bravo, 2001, y se distingue de las especies co-génericas por presentar un gonostilo ancho, multipartito, parcialmente serrado e infuscado, que termina en una larga punta translucida dirigida hacia adentro y atrás. El subgénero Opisthotrichomyia queda integrado ahora por siete especies, incluidas T. brevitarsa (Rapp, 1945), T. vargasi Barretto, 1954, T. nocturna Bravo, 2001, T. festiva Bravo, 2001, T. fluminensis Bravo, 2001, T. riodocensis Alexander, Freitas & Quate, 2001, y T. andina, sp. nov. |

| A prospective study was conducted on the diversity of phlebotomine in the pacific coast of Colombia and its relationship with the eco-epidemiology of leishmaniasis. A total of 5,365 phlebotomines were collected on light traps, in human baits also standing still on walls, trees and mammalian caves. In total, 42 phlebotomine species were identified belonging to the genera Lutzomyia, Brumptomyia and Warileya. Among these, the highly anthropophilic vector species Lutzomyia gomezi (Nitzulescu), Lu. hartmanni (Fairchild & Hertig) and Lu. trapidoi (Fairchild & Hertig). | During the execution of an epidemiological study to assess the risk of Leishmania infection, an entomological evaluation and an inventory of phlebotomine fauna was made. The captures of phlebotomines were carried out with Shannon type traps and aspirators which collected the sand flies on human bait, in the Tikuna native community, on the banks of the Pupuña River an affluent of the Putumayo River among the department of Amazon. | En Colombia están registradas 143 especies de Lutzomyia França, pero menos del 7% de éstas se encuentran incriminadas como vectores de Leishmania spp. Debido a la alta semejanza morfológica de algunas especies vectoras con otras no vectoras, se necesitan caracteres taxonómicos alternativos para identificar correctamente los flebotomíneos de cada zona geográfica del país. | Se describe e ilustra una nueva especie de Psychodidae encontrada en los Andes Colombianos: Trichomyia risaraldensis sp. nov. El material entomológico tipo se recolectó en el municipio de Marsella, departamento de Risaralda, Colombia, con una trampa de luz CDC. Morfológicamente, Trichomyia risaraldensis sp. nov. se asemeja a Trichomyia amata Barretto, Trichomyia brasiliensis Satchell, Trichomyia pseudodactylis Quate y Trichomyia quatei Bravo, pero se distingue por caracteres de la cabeza, el ala y los genitales masculinos.
