| The Hospital Giselda Trigueiro is a reference on Rio Grande do Norte in infectious diseases for 25 years and deployed the service for rabies prophylaxis in collaboration with the professional veterinarian. Over the years the service demand is increasing, being treated monthly between 260-300 patients victims of animals attack, which justified the service need for run under a 24- hour duty care. | A piodermatite canina é infecção piogênica da pele, de origem secundária, causada pelo Staphylococcus spp, principalmente o Staphylococcus pseudintermedius. Essa bactéria é parte da microbiota da pele dos cães, mas se torna agente oportunista após a agressão da pele. Durante os últimos anos, uma das maiores preocupações na dermatologia veterinária tem sido o crescente número de Staphylococcus resistentes a diversos antimicrobianos utilizados no tratamento dermatológico. Os sinais clínicos da piodermatite são: prurido, secreção purulenta, alopécia e presença de células inflamatórias na citologia.
