Study on the response of rice, RD. 43 variety, grown on Ongkharak soil with residual lime to rates of phosphate calculated from P adsorption characteristics such as P adsorption capacity with the value of 802 mgP kg-1 (Pmax), half of Pmax (401 mg P kg-1), 0.2 mg P L-1 (398 mg P kg-1) and the rate of 157 mg P kg-1 recommended by DOA and to different types of phosphate fertilizer, including tripple super phosphate and rock phosphate was conducted. Study on soil characteristics under different types of forest in Sakaerat Environmental Research Station Nakhon Ratchasima province was carried out on eight representative soils including an area of secondary mixed deciduous forest (Skr 1), two sites of dry dipterocarp forest (Skr-2, 3), an ecotone zone (Skr-4), three restoration dry evergreen forest (Skr-5, 6, 7) and an undisturbed dry evergreen forest (Skr-8). Two years experiment was conducted in farmer field at Ban Kud Muang, Takhian subdistrict, Dan Khun Thot district, Nakhon Ratchasima province from April 2009 to May 2011 to investigate the response to type and rate of limes by cassava grown on Yasothon soil (Typic Paleustult). Randomized Complete Block design was employed with four replications. Potential of soils for growing cassava and sugarcane on toposequence of sandstone low hill atKrissana subdistrict, Sikhiu district, Nakhon Ratchasima province was undertaken on four locations, summit slope,upper middle slope, lower middle slope, and footslope of low hill. All four soils were classified as Typic Paleustults.They were deep soils with well drained feature. Groundwater depth at the time of sampling was between 125-200 m where the soil on the middle slope had the shallowest ground water level of 125 m. Their topsoils had brown tostrong brown colours. Study on the effect of tillage on the change of soil properties, nitrogen leaching away from root zone, yield and plant nutrient uptake of maize grown on Warin soil series (Arenic Haplustult) was carried out in Ban Nonsomboon, Krissana sub-district, Sikhiu Nakhon district, Nakhon Ratchasima province. Study on the effectmethod of soil moisture conservation method on yield of Jatropha, variety KUBP78-9 grown on Ultic Paleustalf, was carried out in order to compare the effect of no soil moisture conservation scheme (W1), plant residue mulch (W2), vetiver grass grown between Jatropha rows, slash and mulch (W3), and jack beanast cover crop (W4) on moisture changes within soil profile and yield of Jatropha. Drip irrigation at a rate of twolitres per plant was operated every two days during drought season (Dec 09-May 10).
