RGDU06337-MAS-24-B-B : ข้าวเจ้าอายุเบาสำหรับนาน้ำฝนภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ Thai Agricultural
Somjai Saleeto.
Program on research and development of rainfed lowland rice in north eastern Thailand in collaboration with the National Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC) have carried out the project to develop an early maturing, blast resistant, non-glutinous rice variety. The cross between IR57514-PMI-5-B-1-2 and RGDU99016-MAS-77 was developed and the progenies were backcrossed to IR57514-PMI-5-B-1-2 for 3 time at RGDU, BIOTEC. The selected promising line; RGDU06337-MAS-24-B-B, was finally obtained. This line is a non-glutinous, photoperiod sensitive, early maturing line which flowers approximately on October 8 and is ready for harvest on November 11. The average number of panicles per hill is 11 panicles. The average plant height is 114 cm. with...

Bacterial blight (BB), caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo), is one of the most serious diseases of rice in all major rice-growing areas of Thailand. The most effective approach to control BB is the use of resistant varieties which is economically feasible, an environmental-friendly control method and easy for farmers to handle. However, the selection pressure from the usage of resistant cultivars may result in mutation of the pathogen population to overcome the resistance genes. A feasible method to solve this problem is by pyramiding the effective and board spectrum of multiple resistance genes into susceptible rice varieties. The aim of this research was to identify the effectiveness and board spectrum of BB resistance genes and better...

KKN04023-NKI-14-2-6-1: ข้าวเหนียวไม่ไวต่อช่วงแสงสายพันธุ์ดีเด่นภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ Thai Agricultural
Somjai Saleeto.
Irrigated rice breeding project for Northeast Thailand was carried out to improve photoperiod insensitive glutinous rice variety for blast disease and gall midge resistant. The selected promising line; KKN04023-NKI-14-2-6-1, was finally obtained. The promising line was selected from the population of the cross between PTT97100-B-116-3-3 and KKN97031-NKI-B-B-122-1-1 which PTT97100-B-116-3-3 was used as female parent and KKN97031-NKI-B-B-122-1-1 as male parent. This line is photoperiod insensitive glutinous rice. Its harvesting time is about 131 days after sowing, plant height was 120 cm. The average yield of this line grown in Rice Research Center paddy fields was 614 kg/rai and on farmers field was 684 kg/rai. Rice hull color was brown, grain length of...
