The article analyses the effect of trade liberalization, of final consumption and of technological change on employment structure of Brazil and sector agro cattle raising, by skill level, between 1985 and 2003. Therefore, were used input-output and PNAD data of respective years. The results obtained show important change on the employment structure of sector agro cattle raising in this period, in favor the skilled workers, yet that in less proportion relative to others economic sectors, caused by technological change and trade foreign. The agro cattle raising sector revealed dynamic in its employment structure, benefiting more the skill labor with raised labor productivity

Equidade previdenciária na área rural do Brasil: 1988 a 2008 AgEcon

The aim of this paper is to analyze the evolution of income concentration in the Brazilian rural area after the promulgation of the 1988 legislation and laws that followed under the security of the rural worker (Law 8212/91 and Law 8213/91). The methodological procedures involved the review of legislation, the verification of participation and the extent of concentration of pensions in rural income distribution after exposure of Law 8213/91 and debate in the literature. It uses the decomposition of the Gini index to measure income distribution, based on microdata from PNAD 1988 to 2008. The survey results have revealed that there was a reduction in the income concentration, from 0.559 in 1988 to 0.498 in 2008, partly explained by changes in the rural labor...

This work has as objective to analyze the participation and the contribution of the household income “retirements and pensions” for the inequality of the distribution of the per capita household income in Brazil and Rural Brazil, in the period from 1981 to 2003. For that, it revises the literature about concentration of income and social welfare in the country, and it uses the Gini index components decomposition methodology: revenue of the main work, revenue of other works, retirements and pensions, donations, rent revenues and other revenues (interests, dividends, etc.).
