| Aiming to study plant populations behavior and levels of fertilization and liming most adequate to the Iapar 81 bean crop, a field experiment was conducted in Ponta Grossa–PR, in the 2000/2001 summer sowing season. The experimental design was randomized blocks with four replicates and 4 x 4 factorial arrangement, involving four plant populations (100, 200, 300 and 400 thousand plants ha-1) and four fertilization and liming levels (0.0, 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 doses, being 1,0 corresponding to IAPAR recommendation).
