Effect of Electrical Conductivity (EC) in the Nutrition Solution on Aeroponic Potato Seed Production with Root Zone Cooling Application in Tropical Lowland, Indonesia CIGR Journal
Sumarni, Eni; Farid, Noor; --, Darjanto; --, Ardiansyah; Soesanto, Loekas.
Production of potato seeds aeroponically in wet tropical lowland with root zone cooling application has been successfully obtained. However, Research on nutrition management is still needed and. The growth and development of potato crop in the lowland with root zone cooling application was still facing many withered, dry or yellowing leaves. EC concentration of potato seed growth and yield on aeroponics system with root zone cooling application in the lowland has not been widely studied.  The purpose of this research was to know and get the effect of EC of the nutrition solution on growth and yield of potato seed on potato seed production aeroponically with root zone cooling application in tropical lowland. This research was conducted at an altitude of 115...

Effect of root zone cooling and evaporative cooling in greenhouse on the growth and yield of potato seed by aeroponics in tropical lowlands CIGR Journal
Sumarni, Eni; Hardanto, Afik; Arsil, Poppy.
Temperature control of the rooting area with application of root zone cooling in an aeroponic system succeeded in maintaining the freshness of potato plant roots during planting to achieve tuber initiation. However, following the application of root zone cooling, many wilted plants that were burnt due to high temperatures above the plant surface remained. Therefore, effort is needed to improve the condition of the top of the plant, so that the growth of potato plants in the lowlands may be optimized. The results of some studies show that evaporative cooling can reduce the pressure of hot temperatures in the greenhouse and the area around the plant canopy. Therefore, integrated research on the aeroponic system for the application of root zone cooling and...

The effect of combination lighting of LED and neon light on the growth and yield of potato seeds on the production of aeroponic seeds in the tropical highland CIGR Journal
Sumarni, Eni; Soesanto, Loekas; Purnomo, Widhiatmoko Herry; Priswanto, Priswanto.
The lack of solar radiation which reaches potato plants in extreme weather conditions can reduce potato seed production in aeroponic systems. Production of aeroponic potato seedlings in the Indonesian highlands will reduce the number of tubers under conditions of low sunlight. Frequently, misty weather in the highlands inhibits the formation and growth of tubers. In view of this, there is a need to study the addition of the light using different type of lighting and the effect on growth and yield of aeroponic potato seeds. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of light addition from LED and neon lights on the growth and yield of potato seeds in an aeroponic system. This study was conducted in agreenhouse at the Banjarnegara Potato Seed...
