| The authors describe the syntaxonomy and synecology of the vegetation of a locality near Craubeek in which Ophioglossum vulgatum was found in 1988. Since 1950 the species has been found in Zuid-Limburg on seven localities. In general it occurs in wet or moist grasslands, but near Craubeek it occurs in a rather dry Arrhenatheretum elatioris picridetosum which is rather unusual. This syntaxon consists of subruderal meadows on moderately dry soils. Other main phytosociological elements in this community are the Mesobromion, the Origanetalia and the Artemisietea. |

| The authors report a new locality in the Netherlands (Zeeland) in which Campanula latifolia L. has been found. A description of the vegetation of the site is given and the habitat is compared with the environments in which this species occurs in other countries of Europe. A map of the distributional area was drawn according to the floras of the European countries. So far, the species has been found several times in the Netherlands, but botanists considered such occurrences as incidental escapes (cultivated plants running wild). The data about Dutch localities are analysed and it is demonstrated that the presumption (by the collector or by later interpreters) that the species on the locality would be running wild, in a number of cases does not hold. | The grasslands characteristic of dry sandy soils found along rivers in the nature reserves Zelderse Driesen and Rivierduintjes bij Mook have been investigated by means of the Braun-Blanquet method. Whereas a community with high species diversity is still found in the Zelderse Driesen, the plant cover of the Rivierduintjes bij Mook has lost all the stenotope species characteristic for the lower syntaxonomic units, due to intensive recreation and the absence of summer grazing. Such a community containing only character species from higher phytosociological units as well as accompanying species has been called a basic community (Basalgesellschaft; KOPECKÝ & HEJNÝ, 1974).
