PAGNONCELLIJR.,F.D.B.; VIDAL,R.A.; TREZZI,M.M.; MACHADO,A.; GALLON,M.; XAVIER,E.; OLIVEIRA,M.C..
ABSTRACT The objectives of this study were to determine the effect of herbicide ethoxysulfuron on the development of commom bean (Phaseolus vulgaris), to evaluate the impact of the herbicide on the crop grain yield and to determine the mechanism of tolerance of common bean to ethoxysulfuron. Field experiments were carried out with several doses of ethoxysulfuron to determine its effect on the grain yield of two varieties of common bean ("IPR Andorinha", "IPR Tangará"). The mechanism of plant tolerance was evaluated through several methods, including the analysis of the ALS enzyme sensitivity to herbicide and the use of P450 inhibitors (the insecticides malathion + chlorpyrifos) and the use of antidote (mefenpyr-diethyl). When the rate of ethoxysulfuron was...

Interaction Between Saflufenacil and Other Oxidative Stress Promoting Herbicides to Control Wild Poinsettia Planta Daninha
DIESEL,F.; VIECELLI,M.; TREZZI,M.M.; PAGNONCELLI JR.,F.B..
ABSTRACT: Synergism is a desired result in the interaction between herbicides because it provides many benefits, among which the reduction of doses and the increment of control efficiency, and because it positively signals for the joint application of herbicides. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effect of the association of saflufenacil with other herbicides that promote oxidative stress on the development of Euphorbia heterophylla as well as to analyze if the resulting interactions are antagonistic, additive or synergistic. The experiment was conducted in pots, in a greenhouse, using a completely randomized design with four replications. Treatments consisted of saflufenacil (0, 1,2, 2,32, 4,47, 8,63, 16,65 g ha-1) alone and associated with...

INHERITANCE OF RESISTANCE TO PROTOPORPHYRINOGEN OXIDASE INHIBITOR HERBICIDES IN WILD POINSETTIA Planta Daninha
BRUSAMARELLO,A.P.; OLIVEIRA,P.H.; TREZZI,M.M.; XAVIER,E.; DALOSTO,E.D..
ABSTRACT Weed resistance to herbicides is a major global problem for agriculture. In recent years, the increased use of herbicides, without proper planning, has led to a large increase in the number of cases of weed biotypes that are resistant to one or more herbicide mechanism of action. Wild poinsettia biotypes (Euphorbia heterophylla), discovered in the State of Paraná, with resistance to herbicides that inhibit protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PROTOX) and acetolactate synthase (ALS), are the first case to exhibit multiple resistance in Brazil. This study analyzed the genetic inheritance of PROTOX inhibiting herbicide resistance in E. heterophylla. Crosses were conducted between biotypes that were susceptible (female parent) and those carrying multiple...

CIESLIK,L.F.; VIDAL,R.A.; MACHADO,A.B.; TREZZI,M.M..
ABSTRACT Grass weeds are common in summer crops and strongly decreases the grain yield of the common bean crop. The time of herbicide application influences the variability of environmental conditions and affects the product performance. The objectives of this work were to identify the time of fluazifop-p-butyl (fluazifop) application which gives best grass weed control in the common bean crop and to elucidate the environmental variables most important for the efficacy of this herbicide. Field experiments were conducted involving five application times (2 a.m., 6 a.m., 11 a.m., 4 p.m. and 9 p.m.) and five doses of fluazifop (80, 110, 140, 170 and 200 g ha-1), with additional no-herbicide control. At the time of the herbicide application it was determined...

Prospección de las combinaciones de herbicidas para prevenir malezas tolerantes y resistentes al glifosato Planta Daninha
VIDAL,R.A.; RAINERO,H.P.; KALSING,A.; TREZZI,M.M..

DIESEL,F.; TREZZI,M.M.; VIDAL,R.A.; BARANCELLI,M.V.J.; MIZERSKI,P.H.F..
ABSTRACT: Persistence of an herbicide is defined as the ability to maintain the integrity of its molecule and chemical, physical, and phytotoxic properties in the environment where it was applied. Knowledge of persistence has implications both for the toxicity generated on species grown in succession and for the period in which the herbicide controls weeds. This study aimed to assess the persistence of the herbicide saflufenacil in an Oxisol by means of bioassays. Two experiments with the application of 29.4 g ha-1 of saflufenacil were carried out under field conditions: the first in the 2011/2012 season and the second in the 2012/2013 season. Soil samples were collected at depths of up to 10 cm at different times after application. Subsequently, two...

Evolution of Natural Resistance to Glyphosate in Morning Glory Populations Planta Daninha
PAZUCH,D.; TREZZI,M.M.; GUIMARÃES,A.C.D.; BARANCELLI,M.V.J.; PASINI,R.; VIDAL,R.A..
ABSTRACT Tolerance, also referred to as natural resistance, is a feature that exists in the plant even before herbicide application in an area. I. grandifolia, I. indivisa and I. purpurea are among the tolerant species most commonly found over fields in southern Brazil. We hypothesized that the intensive use of glyphosate results in increasing levels of tolerance to glyphosate, and in pronounced response variability in populations of the same Ipomoea species. This study aimed at identifying tolerance variations to glyphosate among I. grandifolia, I.indivisa and I. purpurea morning glory species and among populations of these species. In crops over Paraná and Santa Catarina states (Brazil) 31 biotypes were collected (20I. grandifolia, 7I.indivisa and 4I....
