Effect of cultivated methods and pests management to reduced pests outbreak was evaluation at Chai Nat Rice Research Center, Chai Nat province. Experimental design was split plot in RCB with four replications. Main plots were 4 cultivated methods including direct seedling using the Rice Department recommend rate, manual transplanting, machine transplanting and parachuting method. Sub plots composed of 2 pest management including application with IPM-controlled treatments and without pest management controlled treatments. The results found that cultivation methods effected the degree of pest outbreak. Rice thrips (Stenchaetothrips biformis) outbreak more severe than the economic threshold was detected only in cultivation with direct seedling method....

Climate change has an impact on rice yield and quality. Heat highly affects rice during flowering stage, as during the stage rice is extremely sensitive to temperature environment. It has been reported that, different rice variety was affected by temperature differently. For Asian country, the highest temperature during the day in summer was about 35 to 41oC or higher resulting in heat intolerance in rice that causes the high percentage of unfilled grain. Heat is also the major cause of cracked-grain leading to the higher number of broken milled rice after milling.
